Description
Built in 1117 in Marrakech during the reign of Ali Ben Youssef, the Almoravid Koubba is one of the few remaining monuments from the Almoravid era. Located near the Ben Youssef Mosque, it served as a pavilion for the ritual ablutions of worshippers. The building features a dome adorned with floral and geometric patterns, and its interior is decorated with muqarnas, a typical feature of Islamic architecture at the time. The Koubba is a valuable testament to Almoravid art, as most monuments from this period were destroyed by the Almohads, their successors.
